Illustrated with a hand-colored title page map, decorative initials, head and tail pieces adapted by Valenti Angelo from contemporary sources. 31x22.5 cm (12¼x8¾"), full vellum, hand-lettered spine, slipcase. One of 250 copies printed by the Grabhorn Press. Text follows a translation of the original Italian edition published by Pietro Pacini at Florence in 1505 or 1506. This was the first book illustrated by Valenti Angelo for the press. GB 85; BCC 26. Lot Amendments Condition: Slipcase with spine strip detached but present, other light wear; vellum with some darkening/discoloration as is common; very good or better. Item number: 281868a
