Engraved title, 79 plates (some light soiling). Original green blindtooled cloth, title in gilt on upper board (spine torn, corners rubbed). DYER, George (1755-1841). History of the University and Colleges of Cambridge . London: Longman, 1814. 2 volumes, 8°. Additional engraved title in vol. one, 32 engraved plates by J. Greig, 4-page publisher's advertisements at end (2 plates misbound, some offsetting from plates, occasional spotting). Contemporary straight-grained blue/green morocco gilt decorated in gilt and blind, gilt edges (extremities rubbed, spines discoloured). Provenance : E. G. Eden (stamp on front free endpaper). With 6 other works in 7 volumes including Aylett Sammes' Britannia Antiqua Illustrata: or, the Antiquities of Ancient Britain (London, 1676, Volume one [all published]), FIRST EDITION), Richard Warner's A Second Walk Through Wales (Bath, 1799, FIRST EDITION), the same author's A Tour through Cornwall in the Autum of 1808 (Bath, 1809), Stebbing Shaw's A Tour to the West of England (London, 1789), The American in England (London, 1836, 2 vols.) and A Second Walk Through Wales (Bath, 1800, second edition).
