In steden, dorpen, sloten, adelyke huizen, kloosters, kerken, godshuizen, poorten, en andere voorname stads- en landgebouwen door Matthaeus Brouërius van Nidek (...)/ Isaac le Long. En in 300 verscheide printtafereelen vertoont door Abraham Rademaker Amsterdam, W. Barents/ A. Schoonenburg, 1727-1733, 6 text vols. and 1 atlas volume, the text vols. beautifully unif. bound in blindst. vellum w. ribbed spines, 4to (vol. 1 w. engr. divisional title), the atlas w. 2 engr. divisional titles and 300 engr. views on 150 plates, finely bound in half calf, gilt and ribbed spine w. mor. letterpiece, large 4to size (30 x 23 cm).
Text vols. occas. sl. waterstained. Paper over covers of the atlas sl. rubbed. A very fine set w. the text in first edition (w. ann. in pencil: "Hoort tezamen met het platendeel"), and the atlas a LARGE AND HEAVY PAPER copy, untrimmed. The atlas w. the small bookplate of the Groningen medical professor Jacob Baart de la Faille (1795-1867) on upper pastedown and with ann. in pencil: "Text in 6 vols. vellum. With the extremely rare "Bericht" bound in." The Library of Baart de la Faille was auctioned in 1868. The original letterpress prospectus ("Bericht", 8 p.) for the second edition (1770-1771) bound at the end lists the different variants of the edition available, of which ours is the most expensive one: "Dito [De 300 plaaten apart extra schoon van druk] op groot mediaan zwaar papier."
