TWO EGYPTIAN WOOD SARCOPHAGUS FRAGMENTS LATE PERIOD TO PTOLEMAIC PERIOD, 664-30 B.C. Both brightly painted on two sides, one side of one preserving a woman facing left with her arms raised in adoration behind a deity with a was -scepter, a lotus flower before him, and two bearded mummiform deities facing right, the wig of a third partially preserved to the right, the other side with two panels each with a Hathor cow reclining on the top of a shrine, with a solar disk and plumes above the horns, each with columns of hieroglyphs naming two of the Seven Hathors, that to the right reading, "Sister(?) of the God" and that to the left reading, "She Whose Name Flourishes by Means of Her Skill;" one side of the other with a woman on one bent knee with her arms raised in adoration before a seated Osiris and a bearded deity, all above a shrine with a cavetto cornice, with three columns of text to the right reading, "me(?). Your (plural) names ...my bones are in him, flesh(?)...my..., may you (plural) rescue/carry off from...," the other side with a falcon upon a shrine, a standing male figure to the left and a mummiform figure to the right, with three lines of text to the right reading, "Open ? Breathing(?) in the field of the Underworld(?)" 17 3/8 in. (44.1 cm.) and 14¾ in. (37.4 cm.) wide (2)
