Two similar Chinese buff pottery models of bactrain camels standing four square on rectangular bases, facing forwards with heads lifted and mouths closed, wearing saddle cloths decorated with foliate motifs, traces of red and black pigments remaining -- 15½in. (39.5cm.) and 16in. (40.6cm.) high, Tang Dynasty , (some restoration and old wear). See Colour Plate 2. (2)
