The handsomely produced catalogue of the first and most important of the two sales of books of Uzanne's fin-de-siècle library (the second, consisting of just 135 lots, was held in 1899); lots 414-451 describe books written by Uzanne. Although unsigned, the characteristically exuberant preface was written by the collector himself. Uzanne's bookplate and monogram are reproduced on title and lower wrapper.
