Amsterdam: L. Vlas-Bloem, 1656. 2 parts in 1 volume, 4° (175 x 132mm). Title with engraved vignette of ships, 6 engraved folding maps, two by Vlas-Bloem, woodcut illustrations of coastal profiles. (Lower margin of first map cut away, two maps skilfully repaired, pages shaved with slight loss.) Later calf, gilt (lightly rubbed). Provenance : Trinity House (armorial bookplate). A rare Dutch North Sea pilot, produced for the English market. The British Library copy has only four maps, the first of which is described as 'mutilated'. In this copy, the third and fourth maps were probably originally printed on one sheet from one plate, the two cha bound separately for ease of reference. cf. Koeman III, p. 185.
