This is a fine copy of the 1980 reprint with the editor's revisions to the original 1967 edition. Edward Adrian (Bill) Wilson (1872-1912) was a member of both Scott's Antarctic expeditions, dying with his leader and three others on their fateful return after finding that Amundsen had reached the South Pole before them. Of Wilson, the Geographical Journal wrote: "Had he lived there is no doubt that he would have been recognized as the foremost bird-artist of his day, and as an eminent artist of fauna and flora of every kind." DESCRIPTION. Unclipped laminated colour dustjacket illustrated by Wilson's paintings, plain endpapers, portrait frontispiece and title-page, 191 pp of prelims, text, notes and bibliography, profusely illustrated with Wilson's colour and b/w captioned paintings. CONDITION. Complete, fine and undiscoloured throughout, and unmarked except for a previous owner's details on the front free endpaper.
