Modern brown buckram, spine titled in gilt, original printed wrappers bound in (paper guard along margin of front wrapper partly covering border, front wrapper spotted, rear wrapper lightly soiled). Provenance : George Finch (contemporary signature on title).

Provenance : George Finch (contemporary signature on title). SEVENTH EDITION, the first to use match reports in addition to the scores themselves. The title-page is enhanced by the decorative border previously restricted to the wrappers. Queen Victoria continues to reign but her name disappears from the wording, and the annual is given the simple title of ‘John Wisden’s Cricketers’ Almanack’ for the first time.
