YEATS, William Butler Nine Poems Chosen from the Works of ... , [New York:] Privately Printed for John Quinn and his Friends, April First 1914. 8°, half tone portrait frontispiece of the author by Arnold Genthe (light marginal browning), original blue wrapper (wear to spine, joints and edges stained, stitching weak), later fitted black morocco-backed case by Sangorski & Sutcliffe, spine gilt lettered, bookplate of John Gielgud, PRESENTATION COPY, inscribed on front free endpaper, "Mrs Jefferson from W B Yeats in gratitude for two evenings of beautiful sights & sounds". ONE OF 25 COPIES. Symons p. 36; Wade 109: " ... printed by Mitchell Kennerley for presentation at a farewell dinner to Yeats given by John Quinn ... Roth states that each guest at the dinner had his name pasted on the cover. I have seen a copy, also in Yeats's library, with no label on the front cover."
