Gora e arrossature al frontespizio e sulle carte iniziali, lievi bruniture, qualche traccia di polvere. Legatura coeva in pergamena su cartone, titoli manoscritti al dorso a 4 nervi. Dorso con ampie lacune, piatti imbarcati con aloni, macchie, abrasioni e qualche foro di tarlo. Nota manoscritta leggermente abrasa alla carta di guardia anteriore. Esemplare - mancante del Repertorium - di questo testo del giurista toscano Francesco Zabarella che fu vescovo di Firenze e poi nominato cardinale. Docente di diritto canonico, si impegnò attivamente per la risoluzione dello scisma d'Occidente, prendendo parte al Concilio di Costanza ed esponendo le proprie dottrine nel De Schismate: le sue posizioni tendevano ad applicare nel campo ecclesiastico le idee della sovranità popolare di Marsilio da Padova e di Guglielmo di Occam. Dapprima sostenne fermamente Giovanni XXIII come legittimo papa, in seguito si pronunciò a favore della deposizione di tutti e tre i pretendenti al soglio pontificio. Tra le sue opere giuridiche ricordiamo i Commentaria in quinque libros decretalium, il Commentarium in Clementinas, le Repetitiones e i Consilia juris. S. Roffey Maitland. Scholar of Canon law, engraged intensively for the resolution of the Western Schism, taking part in the Council of Constance and exposing his doctrines of the De schismate: his positions tended to apply in the ecclesiastical field the ideas of popular sovereignty of Marsilio from Padua and William of Occam. Initially strongly supported Iohannes XXIII as legitimate pope, later supported the deposition of all three claimants to the papal throne.
