Donated by Suhyung Kim, Director Pro-tem of Skinner's Asian Art department: "I was attracted to the three Japanese prints for their visual connotations. One is depicting a young girl (or boy) with penetrating eyes against a landscape that reminds me of my childhood hometown far away. From the others, each with a naked woman portrayed against an imaginary world of the western atmosphere, I could feel the vulnerability and the isolation of an Asian woman in foreign culture. I donated these prints for the superb techniques of the artist handling the medium. I thought that the prints could inspire the aspiring artists of the future to work harder to hone their skills, so suitable for the cause of this event."
