1953. Ziegelfarbener Scherben mit grüner, blauer, schwarzer, weißer und rostbrauner Engobenmalerei. Unter dem Boden Prägestempel «MADOURA PLEIN FEU» und «EMPREINTE ORIGINALE DE PICASSO» sowie eingeritzt 42/250 num.

Nachdem Picasso 1946 Suzanne und Georges Ramié, die Eigentümer des Ateliers Madoura in Vallauris kennen gelernt hatte, fertigte er dort über zwanzig Jahre lang ein immenses Werk einzigartiger Keramiken. Die Formbarkeit und das Ursprüngliche des Materials inspirierten den Meister zu neuen Ausdrucksformen, häufig gepaart mit seiner Vorliebe für Tierdarstellungen und mythische Wesen.

Sehr guter Gesamteindruck. Partiell mit unbedeutendem Krakelee, wohl atelierbedingt. Verso am Rand vier winzige Bestoßungen bzw. Unebenheiten (ca. 1 bis 2 mm), eventuell produktionsbedingt und recto nicht sichtbar.

After meeting Suzanne und Georges Ramié, the owners of the Atelier Madoura in Vallauris 1946, Picasso produced an immense repertoire of unique ceramics for over 20 years. The plasticity and originality of the material inspired the master to new forms of expression, often coupled with his preference for animal depictions and mythical characters.

Very good overall impression. Partially with insignificant craquelure, probably from the making. Verso on the rim four tiny chips resp. unevenness, perhaps production-related and not visible recto.
