A l'initiative du magazine italien Quattroruote, Alfa Romeo accepte au début des années 1960 de produire une évocation de la fameuse 6C-1750 "Gran Sport" à carrosserie Zagato. Sur la base de la Giulia dont elle reprend également le moteur 1600 double arbre, cette voiture originale est produite à 92 exemplaires. La carrosserie, assemblée à la main chez Zagato, est en aluminium sur une structure tubulaire et favorise une vivacité étonnante. L'exemplaire présenté a été vendu neuf en Allemagne et immatriculé le 26 février 1968. Le titre de circulation original nous renseigne sur la totalité des propriétaires jusqu'en 2000, et c'est en 2006 que son actuel propriétaire en a fait l'acquisition chez Artcurial. D'une élégante livrée jaune pâle et ailes noires, combinée à une sellerie en skaï noir, elle dispose d'une capote en bon état, ainsi que des side-screens et du couvre-tonneau. Un essai en compagnie du propriétaire a permis de constater un bon fonctionnement général, la mécanique, alimentée par deux Weber 40 DCOE offrant de franches accélérations accompagnées de la mélodie propre au double arbre, le tout avec la sensation de rouler en avant-guerre ! Cette voiture rare offre le charme d'une interprétation "rétro" officielle, avec sa belle mécanique et sa carrosserie signée d'un grand nom, elle est aussi agréable à utiliser qu'originale à contempler.
