Offered for sale is a 1.5L 1967 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Type 34 manual that has been with the current owner for the last 5 years. Coming with a partial history file, this lot's condition scores 80 / 135.
Classic Car Auctions says: The Type 34 was built from September 1961 through to July 1969 and was the flagship model of the entire VW line up in the 60s. It was the most expensive VW available, the fastest, and the most luxurious. It was fitted with such standard equipment as a cigar lighter, an electric clock, locking steering column, front & rear vent windows, variable wiper controls and a luxurious interior. It also had the distinction of being the only VW fitted with built in fog lights and to have the option of an electrically operated steel sliding sunroof. Manufactured with a beautifully hand crafted body on a standard Type III chassis and running gear, it shared the same engine and transmission, suspension and frame, making it easy to service and maintain. Offered here is a beautiful Type 34 finished in Lotus White with a black roof. The car was painted approximately 2 years ago, and still has a lovely finish. Our vendor informs us that he purchased the car from a fellow VW enthusiast who attended meets and shows around the UK. Under the ownership of our vendor, the majority of the brightwork has been re-chromed, including the front & rear bumpers and window trims. ‘MHE 222F' sits on 15" EMPI 914 alloys wheels, a brand that is a firm favourite within the Vee-Dub scene. There were a total of 42,505 Coupes built, all at the Karmann factory in Osnabruck, Germany and unbelievably, there are known to be only about 1000 in existence worldwide today. Stored in a dry garage and only driven in good weather, this Type 34 comes with bills from previous owners, a UK V5c and will have a fresh MoT in time for the sale. The car is ready to be enjoyed by it's new owner this summer.
