The Mercedes R107 was launched in 1971 and production continued through to 1989 and is the longest single series ever produced by the firm besides the G-Class utility vehicle. The R107 replaced the W113 Pagoda SL in 1972 and was replaced by the R129 SL in 1989. The R107 had the longest run of any Mercedes chassis, built for 18 years from 1971 to 1989. Some 237,000 R107 SL's were built and about two thirds were sold in the US. The car was essentially a two-seater sports car although a small seating arrangement was available behind the front seats. Mercedes-Benz offered a number of engine choices over the years, the first cars in 1971 having the 350 engine, a V8 3.5litre unit fitted. By 1973 a larger 4.5litre V8 was available, constructed primarily for the U.S. market. The SL Roadster has since become the epitome of what a luxury roadster should look like and is as popular today as when first launched. This delightful one family owned SL is in beautiful condition and can only be described as immaculate. Originally registered on 8th February 1973 the Mercedes has clearly been lovingly cared for and rarely used in inclement weather. Finished in white, with black interior TGF 232L is accompanied with the original handbooks a number of previous MoT test certificates, together with a number of receipts. R107 Mercedes-Benz have enjoyed a significant rise in value of late, an original, low mileage, one family owned example such is this is sure to create strong interest. Supplied with a V5 registration document and a full years MoT test certificate; this 350SL is described as being faultless to drive and is certainly not to be missed.
