Using the mechanical components from the Mk. II Cortina and intended as the European equivalent of the Ford Mustang, the Capri went on to be a highly successful car for Ford selling nearly 1.9 million units in its lifetime. A wide variety of engines were used in the Capri throughout its production lifespan. This Capri is in very original condition and shows only two previous owners. The vendor is a very knowledgeable enthusiast. This Mk. I Capri is clearly a much loved and cherished example. The blue paintwork is in very good order showing no signs of any corrosion and the rare blue interior appears to be in superb condition. The 3000cc Essex engine is a very robust unit and can produce a swift performance, we are advised she drives as good as she looks. This 48-year-old Ford is supplied with a V5C registration document and is exempt from MoT. It is rare to see a Mk. I Capri on the road and even rarer to see one in GXL specification in this condition.
