1974 Jeep CJ5 Lot Number 123 Registration VMR362M Chassis Number J4G835TE86654 Engine Number BPC2320089 Odometer reading 75,000 km Estimate £9,000 - £12,000 Result Sold - £10,000 Print details Send this to a friend The Willys CJ (later Jeep CJ) or 'Civilian Jeep' is a public version of the famous Willys Military Jeep from World War II. The first CJ prototype, the Willys CJ-2, was introduced in 1944 by Willys and the same basic vehicle stayed in production through seven variants and three corporate parents until 1986. The Willys CJ-5 (after 1964 Jeep CJ-5) was influenced by new corporate owner, Kaiser and the Korean War M38 Jeep. It was intended to replace the CJ-3B but that model continued in production. The CJ-5 repeated this pattern, continuing in production for three decades while three newer models appeared. This stunning example is an original factory righthand drive Jeep and has one previous family owner for the last 42 years; it has only covered 75,000km in that time. It comes with its original matching numbers, 3.8 litre straight six engine with power fed through a three speed manual gearbox. The owner confirms the Jeep has been fully recommissioned and serviced including tyres, wheels, brakes, bushes and exhaust. Imported from Australia at the beginning of last year and 100% rust free, this Jeep comes with a UK V5 document, an MoT test certificate valid until May 2018 and the original sales brochure. A fantastic and usable example of this legendary off-roader, "JEEP the toughest four letter word on wheels"
