In 1936, he emigrated to South Africa, enlisting in the South African Army when the Second World War broke out. Moving to London in 1948, he started working as a poster designer and graphic artist for London Transport and the, Post Office. He set up the Vinger Mosaic Workshop with Eberhard Schulze in 1958 and produced mosaics and stained glass windows. This major glassworks produced windows for the Pallotine Convent Chapel in Rolindale, St Columba's Church, Chester and, Astley Church in Manchester. *Artist's Resale Right may apply to this lot.
