Beschreibung:

The 308GTB you see here is one of the very first batch produced, featuring lighter fibreglass (vetroresina) bodywork and dry sump lubrication, which are today the most sought after by enthusiasts. Introduced at the Paris Salon in 1975, the stunningly beautiful 308GTB - Ferrari's second V8-engined road car - marked a welcome return to Pininfarina styling following the Bertone-designed Dino 308GT4. Badged as a 'proper' Ferrari rather than a Dino, the newcomer had changed little mechanically, retaining its predecessor’s transversely mounted four-cam 3-litre V8 engine whose 250bhp was good enough to propel the GTB to a top speed of 240km/h. Produced initially with dry sump lubrification and glassfibre bodywork - the first time this material had been used for a production Ferrari - the Scaglietti-built 308 used steel after April 1977. The change brought with it a weight penalty and consequent reduction in performance, as well as an increased susceptibility to corrosion. Further developments included the introduction in 1977 of an open-top GTS version with Targa-style removable roof; the adoption of Bosch fuel injection and, finally, revised cylinder heads with four valves per cylinder. An exhilarating driver's car and a Ferrari purist's delight, the 308GTB and its derivatives proved a huge commercial success for Maranello. This striking fibreglass berlinetta, finished in Giallo Fly with black leather upholstery, is owned by an enthusiastic local collector (only its second owner) who is selling as commitments abroad leave him insufficient time to enjoy the car. The engine is described as "constantly maintained", whilst coachwork, interior, transmission, electrics and chassis are all said to be "impeccable". A stainless steel exhaust is fitted, making for a wonderful exhaust note. Offered with service book and history, and not currently road registered, the car has a valid roadworthiness certificate and offers excellent value for money.
