Beschreibung:

Triumph’s 18-acre “green field” factory at Meriden, constructed and first occupied during the middle of WWII, was responsible for producing more than half a million twin cylinder motorcycles, from 350 to 750cc. For 40 or so years Triumph’s output was well sold in key markets abroad, and in continual heavy demand on the home market. But in 1973, when the government of the day encouraged the joining together of Triumph and Norton, it was to prove a disastrous event, resulting – after all the political dust had settled – in the 1975 creation of Meriden’s sincerely intentioned if grossly under-funded Worker’s Co-operative, a business whose prime raison d’etre was to manufacture traditional Triumph twins, and to the highest possible quality. In this, the quality aspect, they were successful, but there was an inherent problem given that Triumph’s 750cc vertical twin was a long outdated design. Along the way, however, the Meriden operation enjoyed two great successes on the marketing front. The first, in 1977, with the limited edition Silver Jubilee model, followed four years later by another variation of the faithful Bonneville, this one to an exceptional standard of finish, and neatly commemorating the Royal Wedding. The Wedding Bonneville was supplied new to Dave Fox Motorcycles, Ramsgate, Kent, and has yet to have its original factory packaging removed! Dry-stored throughout the last quarter century the 6-mile figure showing on the odometer simply confirms – as with all Meriden made motorcycles – that it duly went through Test & Rectification prior to despatch. Supplied with V5 and V5C Registration documents.
