This Ducati 851 Strada was restored by Protwins of Godstone around 2009, undergoing a complete engine/gearbox overhaul and refurbishment of all cycle parts. It was on display in their showroom for some time thereafter and was sold to the previous owner circa 2010 with approximately 23,000 miles recorded. The current vendor purchased The Ducati on 11th March 2012, at which time the mileage reading was approximately 26,500. The current total is 28,727. Protwins carried out a complete check over on 21st April 2012, which included new Kevlar cam belts and adjustment of the valve clearances. During his ownership the vendor has fitted two Silmoto high-level carbon silencers and a carbon front mudguard. The engine oil and filter were changed by him in April 2013. The original BOS low-level silencers, front mudguard, pillion footrests (removed to fit the new silencers) and pillion grab handles are included in the sale together with an original owner's handbook and a reprint of the workshop manual. Said to run extremely well, this appreciating modern classic Ducati is only being sold because the owner does not have time to use it and is rationalising his collection. Accompanying documentation consists of current MoT/tax, Swansea V5C document and sundry invoices dating back to the time when the bike was first purchased.
