Offered for sale is a 1.9L 1992 Peugeot 205 1.9 GTI manual that has been with the current owner for the last 2 years. Coming with no history file, this lot's condition scores 78 / 135.
Classic Car Auctions says: An ultra rare eye-dazzling, Peugeot 205 1.9 GTI Dimma indicating 64,000 miles...with just one former keeper from new. Dimma UK, under the guidance of Terry Pankhurst, has been designing and manufacturing motorsport inspired styling kits and conversions since 1986 and they have become synonymous with the Peugeot 205 GTi. Finished in a shade of Metallic Purple, this car is described as a genuine Dimma with work carried out by them and a plaque to this effect, with the unique Dimma reference number, is under the bonnet. The mileage is stated as 66,000, which can't be warranted, but an online MoT check confirms that between 2006 and 2016 the car travelled from 37,589 to 64,870. The vendor describes his car as "clean and unmolested needing a little TLC to the paintwork". He tells us that the "car runs well". It has a stainless steel exhaust and is MoTd until May 3rd 2017. There is a resurgence of interest in hot hatches of the Eighties, with the 205 GTi leading the way. Cars in this colour, that look like this will always be a matter of taste, however, there is no denying that genuine Dimmas of this era are becoming rare and there is a strong market for proper cars. To illustrate this, Dimma UK have just re-started production of a new build “Dimma 205 Signature Series” using late 80s and early 90s Peugeot 205 GTis at prices starting from £20,000. With this in mind, this 1992 car is sensibly guided and is undeniably, non-negotiably PURPLE.
