19th century children's poem.- ?Edgell (Elizabeth, poet, maiden name Blandy, of Kingston Bagpuize, Berkshire, married Rev. William Charles Edgell, of Uggeshall, Wangford, Suffolk, 1813-86, 1811-92) The 7 Corporal Acts of Mercy In Verse with Illustrations, ?autograph manuscript, title and 23pp., 2pp. preface regarding publication loosely inserted at beginning dated July 1850, 1f. small tear at tail slightly touching text text but with no loss, slightly browned, 6 pencil drawings, together with several other poems including: "The Parish", "The School", "The Church" etc., 18pp. excluding blanks, pencil note at beginning: "Mrs Edgell Uggeshall Wangford", slightly browned, most illustrations foxed, lower hinge broken, original morocco-backed blind-stamped boards, covers slightly faded, edges rubbed, gilt spine, head and tail of spine chipped with small loss, sm. 4to, July 1850. ⁂ ?Unpublished. No trace of this title in Worldcat and BL cat. Comprises: "1 The Beggar"; "2 The Motherless"; "3 The Mother & her children"; "4 The Sick Child"; "5 Little Ellen"; "6 The Brother's Grave".
