24 handkolorierte Tuschfederzeichnungen von außereuropäischen Blumen bzw. Pflanzen. Um 1800. 46 x 34 cm, am oberen Blattrand auf grauen Kt. d. Zt. (60 x 43 cm) montiert. In roter Maroquin-Kassette d. Zt.
Teils gezeichnet nach oder im Stil von seltenen Werken wie Jacquin's Plantarum rariorum horti Schoenbrunniensis von 1797 (wohl nur in 200 Exemplaren ersch.), Roxburgh's Plants of coast Coromandel (1795) und Smith's Icones pictae plantarum (1790-93). - Gezeigt werden folgende Pflanzen: Heliconia humilis (Jacquin I, Taf. 49), Bannisteria chrysophylla (Ebd., Taf. 105), Haemanthus tigrinus (Ebd., Taf. 56), Tanaecium parasiticum (Ebd., Taf. 115), Mimusops Elengi (Roxburgh I, Taf. 14), Sterculia colorata (Ebd., Taf. 25), Diospyros cordifolia (Ebd., Taf. 50), Sirium myrtifolium (Ebd., Taf. 2), Epidendrum tesselatum (im Stil ähnlich zu Roxburgh I, Taf. 43), Plumieria Rubra, Wachendorfia paniculata (Smith, Icones Fasc. 1-3, Taf. 5), Justicia coccinea (Ebd., Taf. 8), Euphorbia Punicea (Ebd., Taf. 3), Brunfelsia Americana, Erica cerinthoides, Sisyrinchium striatum, Houstonia Coccinea, Geranium tricolour (ähnlich zu Botan. Mag. VII, 1787), Carissa Carandas, Capparis Pulcherrima. - Viele Tafeln alt beschriftet (Zitate botanischer Literatur u.a.) bzw. kommentiert.
24 original handcoloured ink drawings of Non-European plants. Around 1800. Titled by unknown hand. Watermark of C & I. Honig. In contemp. red morocco case, which indicates some importance to the former owner. Some of the plants were drawn after rare published works, like Jacquin's Plantarum rariorum horti Schoenbrunniensis of 1797 (a rare and expensive work published in probably only 200 copies), Roxburgh's Plants of coast Coromandel (1795) and Smith. Icones pictae plantarum (1790-93), others were drawn in similar style to these works, but are not present in the published works. The captions recite different names for the plants shown and cite botanical literature like Linnaeus, the Bot. Magazine et al.
