Title: 24 photographs of action and locales in Europe during World War II, most credited to the U.S. Signal Corps Author: ** Place: Europe & North Africa Publisher: Date: c.1943-5 Description: Most are 8x10 - 9 with Signal Corps rubberstamps on verso indicating "Confidential, Until Reclassified by Censor" and Signal Corps insignia in the negative; 10 without rubberstamps on verso (copy photographs, a bit grainier), but most of this have the insignia. 4 are 9¾x8, on thicker paper (and evidently of action in North Africa), 3 of these with Restricted rubberstamps on versos, 1 with rubberstamp stating it may be released. 1 is 5½x7, with no rubberstamp. Moving selection of photographs, including tanks rumbling across the desert and along country roads, a wounded soldier being attended to, prisoners (Italian?) being escorted, GI's behind machine guns in foxholes, graves of German soldiers, anti-aircraft emplacement by the Eiffel Tower, washing an armored personnel carrier, bombed out houses, and one showing Omar Bradley (evidently) in discussion with 3 other officers. Lot Amendments Condition: Very good or better. Item number: 311426
