The fly is constructed of 13 machine-sewn stripes. The cotton hoist includes 3 hand-worked button holes. The 35-star flag became official July 4, 1863 with the admission of West Virginia into the Union. It only lasted for 2 years. This flag was likely produced after the Civil War. Condition: Although the flag has undergone some toning, it is in very good condition overall. Some light staining.
