A BRASS EWER NORTH WEST INDIA, 16TH/17TH CENTURY The spherical body with swirling ribs, on flaring trumpet foot, rising from the shoulder to tapering neck with central pronounced collar, with flaring mouth and dome-shaped hinged lid, handle and spout 'S' shaped with makara head terminals, the base of the handle with a circular panel of decoration with an openwork vegetal scroll, neck with moulded ribbing, the rim carved with floral petal design, some wear 14¾in. (37.5cm.) high
