RUNKEL, SOLINGEN, LATE 18TH CENTURY With etched single-edged fullered blade bearing the ‘GR’ cypher, brass hilt with folding flap retaining some original gilt finish; together with AN OFFICER’S SWORD OF 1786 PATTERN TYPE, DATED ‘1786’, with slender double-edged blade signed ‘AGUSTIN VAZQUEZ / RL FAB. TOLEDO 1786’, gilt-brass hilt, and wire-bound grip; A MASONIC SWORD, EARLY 19TH CENTURY, with etched blade, gilt-brass cruciform hilt, and original black leather scabbard with gilt-brass mounts; ANOTHER, PROBABLY MASONIC, LATE 18TH / EARLY 19TH CENTURY, with earlier German double-edged blade bearing the date ‘1414’, and gilt-brass cruciform hilt, in velvet-covered scabbard; and A SMALL-SWORD WITH CUT-STEEL HILT, LATE 18TH / EARLY 19TH CENTURY, with etched blade of hollow triangular section The first with 32 1/3in.
