A BRITISH PATTERN 1803 FOOT GUARDS OFFICER'S SWORD CIRCA 1814 With slightly curved single-edged fullered blade double-edged towards the point and etched on the right side with a 'GR' cypher above the figure of a Guards officer and with the Royal Arms and 'WARRANTED' on the left side, each side of the blade with faded traces of original blued finish, gilt-brass stirrup-hilt with slotted guard pierced with scrolls and knuckle-guard with pierced 'GR' cypher, original wire-bound shagreen-covered grip, and lion's-head pommel, in original black leather scabbard with gilt-brass mounts (some wear to gilding throughout, blade discoloured, etching worn, leather flaking on scabbard) 32¼ in.
