A BRONZE FIGURE OF A SEATED IMMORTALLate Ming Dynasty
The ascetic figure perched on top of a plinth, apparently in a rocky sea, his head shaved except for a pigtail, holding a ruyi along his left arm, a rolled scroll beside his right hand resting on his knee, the surface darkly patinated. 27cm (10 1/2in) high.Footnotes明晚期 銅仙人坐像

The present lot could be a representation of the Daoist Immortal Lü Dongbin, patron of all scholars.
