A BRUSSELS TAPESTRY, woven in wools and silks, en suite with the preceding lots depicting a fête champêtre with musicians in flowing silk robes playing flutes, violes and celloes, and with Apollo playing his lyre beyond beneath the shelter of trees with a satyr looking on while beyond a pool, the Gods feast beneath a canopy with Mercury handing a golden apple to Jupiter with Juno, Diana, Hercules and other Gods in attendance in an extensive Italianate landscape, the shadowed border with repeating foliate scrolls centred by a laurel-wreath flanked by flaming oil-lamps beneath pointed crowns and centred by a flaming altar, early 18th Century, with restorations, slightly cut down 130 x 177¾in. (330 x 452.5cm.)
