A Charles X French fruitwood, ebony and ivory inlaid mahogany and marquetry musical sewing box circa 1830 in the form of a grand piano, the top inlaid with a keyboard and stylised foliage opening to reveal the inside of the lid in the form of a pin cushion, the inside fitted with various sewing implements in mother-of-pearl and silver-gilt, on a red velvet ground, on baluster turned legs terminating in flattened bun feet 16cm. high, 19cm. wide, 29cm. deep; 6¼in., 7½in., 11½in.
