A Chinese jade bi disc. Probably Eastern Zhou dynasty or earlier. Of circular form and carved in shallow relief on both sides with a field of nodules enclosed within a plain narrow raised border around both the inner and outer edge, the stone of a translucent green tone with some dark flecks similar to those found in spinach green jade. 3.7 in (9.5 cm) diameter. Provenance: Formerly in the Alexander Taylor collection.
