A Chinese Ming style jade carving of a tortoise. Probably 19th century. Carved in the form of a tortoise holding a lingzhi mushroom in its mouth, a rat clinging to its shell and with a long forked tail flicked over with finely incised decoration throughout, the stone of translucent grey, white and russet tones. 4.1 in (10.3 cm) length.
