A Chinese slip decorated celadon ginger jar and wood cover
A Chinese slip decorated celadon ginger jar and wood cover of ovoid form rising to the short tapering neck, with carved and incised slip decoration of two quails perched on pierced rockwork beside chrysanthemum and other floral sprays, the reverse with an inverted chrysanthemum spray, the exterior covered in a celadon glaze stoping short of the neck and chocolate footrim, underglaze blue Qianlong seal mark -- the jar 8 7/8in. (22.5cm.) high, wood stand.
