A CHIPPENDALE CARVED MAPLE TALL-CASE CLOCK, David Evans Baltimore, Maryland, 1760-1780, the hood with flat top with downswept sides above conforming molding and arched glass door opening to an enamelled face with Roman and Arabic chapter ring and seconds dial with signature of "--- --- ---" with gilt rococo spandrels, the arch centering a sailing ship, all flanked by turned colonettes over a case with fluted quarter columns centering a flattened-arch panelled door above a concave molding over a base with fluted quarter column and central carved panel, on ogee bracket feet (face with some restoration) -- 89in. high, 21 3/4in. wide, 11in. deep
