A Claudette Colbert photographic archive, 1930s-1980sComprising approximately 1,150 silver gelatin prints including portraits, scene stills, and candid behind-the-scenes shots, many doubleweight or linen-backed keybook photos with informational snipes and stamps on the reverse, one signed 'Claudette Colbert' and another inscribed, 'To Burt / Best Wishes From / Claudette Colbert'. Films featured include: Tonight is Ours, I Cover the Waterfront, Three Cornered Moon, and Torch Singer (all 1933); Four Frightened People and Imitation of Life (approximately 25 of which are set stills) (both 1934); The Gilded Lily and She Married Her Boss (both 1935); Boom Town and Arise My Love (both 1940); Skylark and Remember the Day (both 1941); The Palm Beach Story (1942); No Time for Love and So Proudly We Hail (both 1943); Since You Went Away and Practically Yours (both 1944); Guest Wife (1945); Tomorrow is Forever (together with a 16 pp program produced by RKO), Without Reservations, and The Secret Heart (all 1946); The Egg and I (1947); Sleep, My Love and Family Honeymoon (both 1948); Bride for Sale (1949); Three Came Home (with 14 wardrobe test shots) and The Secret Fury (both 1950); Thunder on the Hill and Let's Make It Legal (both 1951); Outpost in Malaya (aka The Planter's Wife) (1952); Royal Affairs in Versailles (1954); Texas Lady (1955); and Parrish (1961). With a collection of photos featuring Colbert with Hollywood friends including Mike Todd, David Niven Judy Garland, Jack Benny, Joan Bennett, Walter Wanger, Charles Boyer, Bob Hope, Cary Grant, Olivia de Havilland, Marlene Dietrich, George Burns, Carole Landis, Gary Cooper, Ronald Reagan Eleanor Roosevelt, Desi Arnaz, Frank Sinatra, Ronald Colman, Clark Gable, Herbert Marshall, Jane Wyman, Pat O'Brien, Rosalind Russell, Ray Milland, Alan Ladd, Danny Kaye, Natalie Wood, and many others. Also featured are photographs chronicling her prolific stage career in plays such as Julia, Jake, and Uncle Joe; Janus; Aren't We All?; and Marriage Go Round, as well as television appearances.
