MING DYNASTY, 16TH CENTURY
A cloisonne enamel and gilt-bronze vase Ming dynasty, 16th century Following an archaic bronze form of a tsun , the ovoid body rising from a slightly flared foot to a tall flaring neck, a band of fire-gilded lappets at the neck, the body and the inside of the neck finely enamelled overall with large Indian lotus borne on undulating scrolling stems, the bloom all picked out in contrasting colours in various tones, all ribbed with four vertical notched gilt-bronze flanges 37.3 cm. high
