A COMPANION PAIR OF PLASTER ARCHITECTURAL PANELS, FROM THE FAÇADE OF LA CERTOSA DI PAVIA THE ORIGINAL PANEL 15TH CENTURY, THE CASTS PROBABLY 20TH CENTURY Each in two sections, relief cast with trophies, grotesques and swags surrounding a circular aperture 262cm high, 59cm wide Catalogue Note: The present panels are casts after a section from the lower right hand part of the façade of the Carthusian monastery in Pavia, which was constructed under the supervision of North Italian sculptors Francesco Solari and Giovanni Amadeo. Condition Report: Each is presented in two sections, some surface wear and darkening. One is slightly darker than another, this example has a circa 10cm loss to one of the side mouldings. Minor chipping and small losses to protruding relief elements overall including to flowerheads. Condition Report Disclaimer
