CIRCA 1855
A CONTINENTAL CASED PAIR OF PERCUSSION TARGET PISTOLS SIGNED F.P DEVISME À PARIS CIRCA 1855 With signed octagonal sighted rifled barrels, engraved breeches and breech tangs numbered 1 and 2 in gold, engraved locks, walnut half-stocks carved with scrolling foliage in panels oppposite the locks and over the fore-ends, fluted butts, and steel mounts engraved en suite with the barrels and locks, Liège proof (the steel parts cleaned bright, scattered light surface rust): in fitted mahogany case lined in blue velvet (light wear), the lid with later brass escutcheon, and with its full complement of accessories, including Dixon three-way flask, ivory-mounted cleaning rod, and bullet mould for pocket pistols 16½in (42cm)
