A Daisho (Pair of Swords) with Mounts Muromachi period (16th century), the katana signed Sukesada , the wakizashi attributed to Osafune Tsuneie Katana : Sugata [configuration]: honzukuri, iori-mune, toriizori, chu-kissaki Kitae [forging pattern]: ko-itame with slight bo-utsuri Hamon [tempering pattern]: koshi no hiraita midare of nioi with ashi Boshi [tip]: ichimai Horimono [carving]: marudome on both sides Nakago [tang]: ubu with one hole Habaki [collar]: single, gilt-copper Nagasa [length from tip to beginning of tang]: 63.8cm. Wakizashi : Sugata [configuration]: honzukuri, iori-mune, toriizori, chu-kissaki Kitae [forging pattern]: mokume with bo-utsuri Hamon [tempering pattern]: suguha, ko-midare of nioi with ashi Horimono [carving]: kakinagashi grooves on both sides Nakago [tang]: o-suriage with three holes Habaki [collar]: single, gilt-copper Nagasa [length from tip to beginning of tang]: 46.1cm. Koshirae [set of mounts]: pair of black-lacquer saya designed with ribs and decorated with family crests in gold hiramaki-e and takamaki-e , the hardware all shakudo nanako-ji decorated with crests in gold takazogan , the iron katana tsuba pierced with a stylized crane and the wakizashi tsuba an oval shakudo nanako-ji plate pierced with an aperture, gilt-metal menuki designed with three crests and flying cranes Both blades with Hozon Token (Sword Worthy of Preserving) certificates issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai (Society for the Preservation of the Japan Art Sword) dated 2005.8.12 (2)
