A detailed, partially-planked, rigged model of the Royal Navy 44-gun Frigate Roebuck (1774) modelled by J.M. Brown, bound masts with yards with stun's'l booms and footropes, standing and running rigging with scale blocks, carved figurehead in the form of a woman with spear, hair rails, bitts, anchors with bound wooden stocks, catheads, belaying rails and pins, stove pipe, gratings, ship's bell with wooden belfry, companionways, capstan, double helm, forty-four guns in carriages with tackle. The hull unplanked below the main whale, planked and pinned above and with partially planked decks to reveal ribs and beams with glazed and carved stern and quarter cabin windows, is finished in black and matt varnish -- 41½ x 53in.
