A FARS BRASS BOWL Iran,14th century Of shallow compressed rounded form with reinforced rim, on a flat plain base, the exterior incised with calligraphic cartouches alternating with rosette-shaped medallions with spirals and T-shaped motifs, a background of scrolling vine throughout the decorative band, the body once silver-inlaid, around the rim two polylobed calligraphic cartouches on a hatched ground and a late ownership inscription in crude hand possibly reading Saheb-e Hadi, 18cm diam and 11.5cm high.
