circa 1760 Attributed to Alius, the slightly flared round funnel bowl decorated with the arms of Prince Willem V of Orange, within the Garter ribbon inscribed HONI SOIT QVI MAL Y PENS, with a pair of crowned lions emerging from behind the armorial, and issuing sprays of apple-blossom above a scrolling trelliswork ledge, set on a cushion knop and shoulder knop over a tall plain slender section and wide conical foot, 19.1cm high
