A fine early 20th-Century lacquered-brass telescope micrometer attachment, unsigned , with a turning knob on either side for two drums each with a silvered scale to move the interior cross hairs, the eyepiece on a sliding brass plate, mounted on a larger drum with silvered scale and vernier, turning knob and clamp, with threaded mount for a telescope with eyepiece fitting 31mm. diameter, with three eyepieces, all with smoked lenses, and a sharp pointed adjustment tool in a long brass canister, contained in the original fitted mahogany case, the inside of the lid with an applied inscribed label entitled Parallel Wire Micrometer with details of the drum revolution and scale, and signed E.J.B. 18.11.18 -- 8½in.
