A FINE GEORGE IV SILVER SOUP TUREEN, COVER AND STAND LONDON, 1828, MAKER'S MARK OF JOHN BRIDGE The tureen of Warwick vase form, the spreading circular foot chased with bands of palmettes and fluting, the lower body chased with acanthus and flutes, applied above with an elaborate foliate grapevine, its stem forming the bifurcated scroll side handles issuing from acanthus and scrolls, the rim with alternating flutes and berries, the domed cover applied with a scrolling grapevine border on a matted ground, the foliate grapevine loop handle above a raised leaf calyx, applied on each side with a coat-of-arms, helm, crest and motto within acanthus scroll mantling, with silver liner, the shaped circular stand raised on four acanthus scroll feet, joined by openwork vines overlapping a similar rim at each end to form elaborate acanthus scroll and openwork rocaille handles, the sides applied with the same armorials, the body and liner engraved on each side with the same armorials, marked on body, cover, finial and stand, the foot stamped RUNDELL BRIDGE ET RUNDELL AURIFICES REGIS LONDINI --length of stand 21 1/2in.
