A fine gilt-bronze mounted ebony and vernis Martin decorated secrétaire à abatant Paris, circa 1870 the brocatelle jaune de Jura marble top inset within a three-quarter drapery-cast gallery above a long frieze drawer, the fall-front opening to a kingwood veneered interior and fitted with four small drawers beneath two long compartments, all drawers made of cedar wood, the lower part fitted with two cupboard doors opening to one shelf, front and sides painted with cloud-bourne putti reserves, the gilt-bronze mount to the apron has been removed to reveal the number 107 from the bronze master model, the finely cast two-tone gilded gallery has been removed to reveal the mark J from the bronze master model. height 50 3/4 in; width 25 1/2 in.; depth 14 3/4 in. 128.6 cm; 64.8 cm; 37.5 cm
