A FINE VIENNESE 16-BORE D.B. PERCUSSION SHOTGUN with etched twist barrels signed in gold in gothic letters on the rib and inlaid at the breech with a gold line and a gold band of Greek key design, engraved patent breeches with a woodcock within a gold oval between the nipples, long scroll engraved gold-inlaid case-hardened tang with a rabbit in a landscape, shaped case-hardened signed scroll engraved locks, the left lock engraved with a pointer and two partridges, the right lock with a fox and a pheasant, each scene within a landscape, engraved shaped hammers each with fluted nozzle, figured walnut half-stock, chequered grip and fore-end, case-hardened scroll engraved iron mounts, the butt-plate decorated with a woodcock, and the pierced trigger-guard with a stag, each in a landscape, the latter with pierced scrolled horn tang, cheek-piece, iron sling mounts, original ramrod with white-metal tip, and most of its original finish, by Ferdinand Fruwith in Wien, circa 1840 29¼in. barrels
