Persian manuscript on paper, in scroll form, 6 lines of fine nasta'liq script in black ink (some losses to text), text from the Qur'an, genealogical seal of Shah 'Alam dated regnal year 4/112[2]/1710, on the reverse an explanation of the contents and registration by several Mughal officials, a few with their seal impressions including Asif al-Dawla, loss to left-hand edge, waterstaining, smudging, creased, 1000 x 460 mm.; a document issued by the Minister of Farrukh-Siyar, Afzal Khan, appointing Shaykh Muhammad Nasir, son of Shaykh Muhammad, as the judge of Narayana, Mughal, dated 6 Sha'ban 7 regnal year/24 June 1719, Persian manuscript on silver-sprinkled paper, in scroll form, 8 lines of chancellery hand in black ink, individual flowers reserved against silver-sprinkled ground and outlined in gold, tughra of Afzal Khan and his seal impression, on the reverse notes of registration and announcements to different areas on the back, 473 x 215 mm.; a document demanding the payment of a certain amount due in AH 1023/AD 1614, dated 26 Ramadan 1024/19 October 1615, in scroll form, 17 lines of chancellery hand in Persian and 30 of nagari script, seal impression at top of a certain Singh Maharaja, numerous notes added at the bottom of the text in both Persian and nagari script, 670 x 190 mm.; and a document issued by an official regarding the transfer of funds, in both Persian and nagari, dated 2 Rabi' al-awwal 962/29 January 1560, 4 lines of Persian written in a chancellery hand and 7 lines of nagari, in scroll form 225 x 174 mm.(4)
